QLTS Exam Stages
The QLTS Exam consists of two stages:
- QLTS MCT – Multiple Choice Test
- QLTS OSCE – Objective Structured Clinical Examination
Candidates must first pass the QLTS MCT before proceeding to the QLTS OSCE.
QLTS MCT EXAM
Offered in July and January each year
The QLTS MCT exam is a multiple choice test which consists of 180 multiple-choice questions. The assessment is divided into 2 sessions of 2 hours 45 minutes each, with 90 questions in each session.
Kaplan QLTS is the sole authorised exam assessment provider. The actual multiple choice exam is a computer-based assessment administered by PearsonVue. As the assessment provider, Kaplan QLTS is not authorised to provide QLTS preparation courses.
QLTS OSCE EXAM
After passing QLTS MCT, you will then be eligible to apply and sit QLTS OSCE. The QLTS OSCE exam is offered in November and April / May each year.

Q. How much is the course fee?
A: MCT course is 1850 GBP. The OSCE is 2400 GBP. We offer 150 GBP off MCT if you applied our International BARBRI course for the US Bar Exam. For BARBRI MCT alumni, the fee for OSCE is 1950 GBP.
Q. What are my payment options?
A: You can either pay your tuition fees in full before the course starts, or you may opt for 2 parts installments. For MCT, it is 50% upfront and 50% after 30 days. For OSCE, it is 50% upfront and 50% after 30 days.
Q. Am I eligible to sit the QLTS?
A: Essentially, you need to be a lawyer qualified in an eligible jurisdiction in order to sit the QLTS. Q. What are the general rules on deferral and FREE repeat for the MCT and OSCE course?
A: We offer deferral on the MCT but not the OSCE. We offer one FREE repeat for the MCT and one FREE repeat for OSCE if the student attends 70% of the tutor sessions and sit the mock exam.
